Tom Wolf (D) Trashes Trump’s Reckless Tax Giveaways For The Rich

Gov. Tom Wolf (D. PA)

Received this e-mail today from Governor Tom Wolf’s (D. PA) re-election campaign:

Last night, President Donald Trump was in Harrisburg to tout a tax plan that’s as well-thought-out as Trump Vodka, Trump Magazine, Trump Airlines, Trump Steaks, Trump University, and Trump casinos.

That is to say; the Trump tax plan is not only going to fail, but it’s also going to rip off and raise costs for middle-class families in the process.

Governor Tom Wolf is speaking up against this reckless plan, and he asked me to see if you could help him get this message to Republicans in Washington: reject Trump’s tax giveaways for the rich.

During his speech, Trump promised truck drivers that they would see their paychecks go up, but in reality, they may see their taxes go up instead. In contrast, corporations are getting a 20-35% tax cut — with many of these giveaways funded by a $1.5 trillion cut from Medicare and Medicaid. That’s a blow to seniors and working Pennsylvanians.

If this story sounds familiar, it’s exactly the type of plan that Republicans in Harrisburg are trying to sell you as they refuse to make drillers pay their fair share by passing a commonsense shale tax.

They’re in the hands of special interests, lobbyists, and donors — and it looks like the president is too.

This is not tax reform. It’s a financial windfall for the wealthiest families and corporations at the expense of working Pennsylvanians, and we need to put the pressure on Congress to put an end to this.

Sign this petition and tell Congress to reject the president’s reckless plan.

Thanks,

Jeff
